Between the Diamond Dust and the Sun: Hydrogen, Oxygen, Carbon, Helium, Neon, and Iron, 2022-23
Archival pigment prints and single channel 4k video
In an attempt to understand the most important source of energy for the Earth, Between the Diamond Dust and the Sun offers a photographic rendering of each chemical element that makes up the largest star in our galaxy. The title is derived from early experiments in geo-engineering that propose shooting a veil of diamond dust over the atmosphere to refract sunlight and mitigate rising temperatures. As we face the complex consequences of a warming planet, this series brings the sun back to its elemental nature and reminds us of our humanity within the climate change crisis.
