Anna Freud and Her Father

Anna Freud and Her Father, 2014 Installation with text, photographs, video, and sculpture.

Set in an imagined arctic landscape Anna Freud and Her Father uses Freud’s iceberg metaphor of consciousness to contemplate the dynamics of interpersonal relationships between daughters and their filial figures. Here the artist combine’s Anna Freud's biography with her own, centering the story of psychoanalysis from the perspective of a woman, daughter, and lover. Dreams were woven with facts, and archetypes of authority were dismantled into a para-historical narrative.
